David Spain and Ken Gergle have been designing and installing unique gardens together since 2002.

Working with clients, their focus has been to design stunning shade gardens, hardscaping with stone and water, and using moss as the dominant plant. Their inspired landscapes have filled a niche in shade gardens in the Piedmont region of North Carolina.

Several of their installations and moss creations have been photographed and featured in national, regional, and local publications.

The secret to their success has been in their pioneering work with moss.

Operating the only moss nursery in the United States and helping to expand knowledge about and uses for living moss, Moss and Stone Gardens are trendsetters for America's moss industry.

Moss and Stone Gardens is dedicated to the education of moss gardening and propagation of mosses. Their most recent endeavor is to bring live mosses to Independent Garden Centers in easy to care for pre-planted containers. By using Moss and Stone Gardens’ patent pending process, mosses can now find a place in our gardens and homes like never before.
